Film opener ideas

I'm not exactly sure how I want to do my film intro. I have an open mind of ideas connected to one topic. I want to base it around teenagers, social media, online messaging, child abduction/human trafficking. I still have different ideas in my head and I'm thinking about how get my message across within 1-2 minutes. I feel like time is my greatest challenge.  I am somewhat confident when I will began the editing process since I like to do it and have been doing it for a while. I feel like I am creativity when it comes to that topic. I know I have the family and resources to bring my vision to life through editing and video.  My overall plans/ideas -starts off with a close up of a young girl texting someone -black out transitions  -edgy and intense music on very transition beat. -older guy comes off as another young person seducing young girl -mother telling the girl to be careful who you meet online and always tell her first I kind of see my vision as I see other movie trailer

S-DAW #1

Marketing is an everyday thing that is constantly shown to me . Whether it's an pop up ad on YouTube or a shows up on my for you page. Marketing plays the role of showing me things I like or is recommended for me. Based on what apps I use, what websites I like to order from or the type of content I like.  I always see ads on good or recommended tooth paste or anything dental. This is helpful because I have braces so I have to take extra care of my teeth. These sometimes do interest me because they can be simple things I can use or do at home. And sometimes its an advanced way or technical way of cleaning and taking proper care of my mouth. These seem personalized because I would always search up things to use for my braces such as a good way to floss and what's the best toothbrush. The ads can also be links to my everyday websites I use such as amazon and they would give me promo codes to get discounts. I also believe it can sometimes be general because even if I  had braces

Pixar Theme discussion

What is you perception of this Pixar video, what was the message, theme? I feel like the message and theme is you shouldn't treat others differently because they look and act different, that unkind treatment can negatively affect you later. Where do stereotypes come from? A stereotype is a oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing. Stereotypes are usually what we automatically assume or only see about people or a thing.  Stereotypes  typically comes from  accusations or single sided stories. Some of these stories usually come from  people with no experience.  I learned from  a ted talk video  by  Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie that single stories are what we make people out to be and that is  what they ultimately become. What are microaggressions? Term used for brief and commonplace daily verbal, behavioral, or environmental indignities. Whether intentional or unintentional, that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative prejudicial slights and insults tow

Representation Reflection Discussion Post

The idea of representation compares to  Stuart  Hall's theory because Hall's theory explains how a subject does not have one fixed meaning.  It is  ''meaning'' does not exist in the real world until it is represented in media. And that media is what give these events or subjects meaning.  Stuart  Hall states '' Representation is not an after the event activity, it means something and then the presentation might change or distort. We are talking about the fact that it has no fixed meaning no real meaning in the obvious sense. Until it is being represented.'' This means that media is the meaning makers to these events that  happened .  For  example,  using the corona virus pandemic,  it has  been alleged that it came from china and Chinese people. As a  result,  many people many people associated Chinese people with having the virus. Before that connection came out to the media those associations  were not  made .  On the other  hand,  the idea o

Looking at Movies Reflection Discussion Post

Cinematic language are the tools and techniques in which filmmakers use  to  express a meaning through film. These techniques include but are not limited to editing, mise-en- scene , lighting, sound and more. These approaches all add to the construction of a film and  its  significance. For example, if a filmmaker wants a scary outside shot, the setting could be in the woods, the lighting would be dark,  a  beam of moonlight with owls  hooing  and wind brushing old trees together. This will grant the filmmaker's audience with a  feeling of fear  that he/she wants to convey. This is important to the ways that movies communicate with viewers because what gives the film sense is portrayed upon how the audience view and obtain from it. This means that filmmakers  must  use the right techniques of cinematic language in each shot  to  communicate what they want the viewers to receive. Using the  previous  example,  for  that filmmaker to convey a scary scene, they can use sound, but  i

''The Crossing'' Discussion Post

The filmmakers use cinematic language to manipulate viewers reactions to the film  by cutting  certain scenes, using different shot  angles,  cinematic  invisibility,  and point of view .  With these things the filmmakers were able to connect them to one another making the ''perfect scene''. By using these film  techniques,  it allows each viewer to interpret  what is  going on their reaction to it .  For  example,  toward the end of the short film there is cinematic invisibility .  This technique was used when the  actor  was grabbed from behind then it went to a black screen. Right after it shows a clip with a closeup of one of  the lights . This was a  fast-moving  transition between the two shots. Another example is the use of shot angles, as there was many in this film .  When the  actor  was running in the big empty space it as a close-up low angle shot of her feet then cuts to a  far and  distant wide shot of her full body running .  Another example is when she

Cinematic language

My understanding of    Cinematic language   Cinematic language are the methods and ideas tied together to convey a particular message or multiple messages, through videos and images. Everything that exist in cinematic language also contributes to the communication towards viewers. The technique of editing is crucial part, because this consist of camera angels, transitions and cuts.  Lighting and sounds are other dynamics that makeup a film and its cinematic language. M ise en scene is another aspect of cinematic language that portrays the setting through set design and actors. With these elements of cinematic language, they all tie together to make a bigger picture.  Using horror movies is a good example to explain and describe how these elements would work. There could be a low camera angle of a victims feet running and transition to a pov shot of how the killer sees the victim. This is a way editing could be use it portray a scary message. Using a an older isolated house as a setting
