Why I decided this task

 Why did you decide to complete this task? Talk specifically about what are some of your initial concepts and what you've learned from the class so far. 

    I have decided to complete this task because I have always loved filming and editing videos. I have explored many different apps for editing fake YouTube videos with my sister. I enjoy the process of editing my videos because I see my progress and make the videos exactly how I want to my satisfactory. I like the filming process as well I feel like it is entertaining. Seeing other people's well edited videos gives me inspirations as well. 

    My initial concept for my film opener was about how girls should be careful on social media and messaging strangers. The idea I had vision of making a trailer until on class I learned what exactly a intro opener is and how its is different from a trailer. Then I changed my idea to how teens these days interact with social media. Then I realized the vision I had was to complex being that it is no longer than 2 minutes and I do not have the resources. At this point I was completely stuck as to what my idea can be. One class our film group participated in a jamboard pitching ideas and genres. This is where my idea emerged from. I took the genre comedy and todays pandemic and created my story. An adolescent girl struggles to become more fit as she faces her compelling lazy behavior. My story is based on many teens struggles due to everything shutting down because of the pandemic.   I also learned how to story board a trailer for my opener and drew out different shots to portray certain messages. I also learned to develop a treatment.

Production sample shots

  What was the filming process like? What worked and what didn't work? The filming process did not take that long being that is was sample clips. I did have to take multiple shots and different angles to find out what looks the best. My sample clips were based on utilizing the staircase. Certain camera positions did not work and my audio was to nosy because of the background noise. Film opener ideas

 I'm not exactly sure how I want to do my film intro. I have an open mind of ideas connected to one topic. I want to base it around teenagers, social media, online messaging, child abduction/human trafficking. I still have different ideas in my head and I'm thinking about how get my message across within 1-2 minutes. I feel like time is my greatest challenge.  I am somewhat confident when I will began the editing process since I like to do it and have been doing it for a while. I feel like I am creativity when it comes to that topic. I know I have the family and resources to bring my vision to life through editing and video.  My overall plans/ideas -starts off with a close up of a young girl texting someone -black out transitions  -edgy and intense music on very transition beat. -older guy comes off as another young person seducing young girl -mother telling the girl to be careful who you meet online and always tell her first I kind of see my vision as I see other movie trailer

''The Crossing'' Discussion Post

  The filmmakers use cinematic language to manipulate viewers reactions to the film  by cutting  certain scenes, using different shot  angles,  cinematic  invisibility,  and point of view .  With these things the filmmakers were able to connect them to one another making the ''perfect scene''. By using these film  techniques,  it allows each viewer to interpret  what is  going on their reaction to it .  For  example,  toward the end of the short film there is cinematic invisibility .  This technique was used when the  actor  was grabbed from behind then it went to a black screen. Right after it shows a clip with a closeup of one of  the lights . This was a  fast-moving  transition between the two shots.
